Introduction

The Famous Balloon Chair is a game that is very popular nowadays especially in team
building activity. The aim of this game is to make a chair out of balloons. This activity
promotes, team work, creativity, problem solving and communication skills. This game
works well as a team building exercise for both new and established groups. This game
consume 45 minutes for each group to produce their own balloon chair.

Procedure

Step 1
`
Split the group into teams of around 4-5 people.
Step 2
Distribute to each team a packet or two of mixed sized balloons, scissors and
parcel tape.
Step 3
Ask the group to construct a chair out of blown up balloons and brown parcel tape.
Step 4
Allow each team 45 minutes for this task!
Step 5
When the balloon chairs are complete, the group leader sits on each chair.
Step 6

The chair that is the most comfortable, stable and does not collapse wins.

Conclusion and Recommendation

This great activity makes a clear point that its human nature that each one of the
student in the team wants to stand out and be the only winner which was very clear in
what happened in this activity. The real team spirit is that everyone works together so
we can be all winners and achieve our common team goals. We hope that this kind of
activity may increase the confident and encouragement of the student.
