selling price of that book in Barnes & Noble will include a 45% markup. Calculate the selling price of

2. When hes not reading books, Joseph enjoys playing strategy board games. Joseph decides to
purchase the game Pandemic. The selling price of the game is $29.90. Joseph is planning to use a
20% off coupon. If the sales tax rate is 7.5% and he pays for the game using $30 in cash, how
much change will he get back from the cashier? Round to the nearest penny.

3. Mike is a GameStop employee who gets paid in two ways: an hourly wage and a commission %. Mike
earns $9.20 per hour and 6.5% commission on the value of all the merchandise he sells to customers.
On Saturday Mike worked from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm and sold $980.00 worth of merchandise.
How much money did he earn in total on Saturday?
