REACTION PAPER ABOUT NOBODY WANTS A FOREIGNER PRESIDENT

When Grace Poe was elected as a Senator, no one questioned her citizenship
and now that she is running for a higher office and leading the #1 spot on all the survey,
these people showed up and act like that they forget that having a natural born status is
also a requirement for running in the position of Senator. If Grace Poe is not a natural
born citizen of this country, for sure COMELEC is not so stupid to accept Grace Poes
COC last 2013. For me, whether Grace Poe is a natural born Filipino or not, Im okay
with her being the President of the Philippines. I think it isnt fair that where someone is
born determines whether or not someone can or should be president. People who arent
natural-born Filipino that also show a great devotion to the country and political
leadership should be given a chance to say the least. There are plenty of young, smart,
foreign-born students in every school today that live by example. Each and every one of
them should be given a chance to become a president if they show commitment and
dedication to our country. Just because a person comes from another country doesnt
mean they will change everything. We are all born equal. We are all humans and
should care about the world. It shouldnt matter our race or origin. As long as we have
the right beliefs in our hearts it shouldnt matter. The greatest leaders are not the ones
that care about themselves but care for the world. But still it depends on the voters if
they want Grace Poe as the President of this country. Voters are the one who decides if
shes capable of guiding us in the right direction or not. Franklin D. Roosevelt an
American President of US once said Let us never forget that the government is
ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not
a president and senators and congressmen and government officials but the voters of
this country.
