Detailed Journal Entry 9/28/15

On Tuesday I went to the library and immediately started working

on my paper that will be due Monday Oct, 5 th. I spent the entire
class in the library looking at the rubric for the paper and previous
students papers, to get an idea of what mine is going to look like.
After school I went home and worked for about hour on a first
draft. This totaled up to about 2 hours on Tuesday. On Wednesday
I finished my paper which took about another hour, with a little
time to spare before the bell rang, I began the heading for my
case study. On Thursday I went to my mentors office for just over
2 hours because he had to make his sons football game. Today
was a busy day. I recorded 10 patients in my notes and wrote a
little about each one. Patient A, the first patient we saw, came in
complaining of severe pain in her neck after a car wreck. When
Dr. Santos started to examine her neck she began to show signs
of extreme pain. Once we took a look at her MRIs we noticed that
there was nothing visibly wrong with her neck, even though she
sure seemed like it was unbearable. When Dr. Santos and I
returned to the room, he informed her there was no visible

explanation for her pain. Strangely enough she seemed unhappy

after hearing the new information. She asked for pain medication,
but when Dr. Santos asked if she really needed it, she walked out
and that was the end of that. This was a little different form the
usual patient that comes in, but I guess there are different types
of people in this world. Friday was a pretty slow day. I went to the
library to work on my Case Study for about an hour, then
completed it Saturday.
