to understand individual

all domains

c. they are the basis of all

developmental stages in humans

Theorists
Pavlovs work
Plato believed
human
development was
natural.
Locke believed
childrens
knowledge came
solely from their
experiences with
the environment.

focused on the
environment and
the behavior of
people (what they
do).
Sigmund Freud
focuses on
emotion. Internal
feelings influence
behaviors and
thoughts. Its all
about how people
feel.

Theorists
Jean Piaget and Lev
Vygotsky focused on
the way people think,
reason, and make
sense of the world
around them.
Behaviorist gave way
to the steady
ascension of cognitive
reasoning. Cognitive is
the most prominent
worldview.

Psychoanalytic has
been almost
nonexistent since
1960s.
It is great to look at
human development
from each worldview
in order to achieve
more understanding
of human
development.

Context

rules, and medical institutions.
TIME ALTERS THE INFLUENCES OF OTHER CONTEXTUAL ELEMENTS , WHICH IN
TURN, DIRECTLY INFLUENCE INTERINDIVIDUAL AND INTRAINDIVIDUAL CHANGES.
AT THE LOCAL LEVEL, CULTURE IS TRANSMITTED BY FAMILY, PEERS, FRIENDS,
TEACHERS, AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL CONTEXT A WELL AS, LOCAL
GROUPS SUCH AS LOCAL SORORITY AND FRATERNITY CHAPTERS AND CHURCH
