Oktoberfest Meets Art Walk
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 7, 2015)---The Downtown Jacksonville Art
Walk will be blended with Oktoberfest festivities for an evening of
music, food, beer and art.
We couldnt have timed this event better if we tried, said Art Walk
manager Hana Ashchi. When Art Walk celebrates the artistry of
painters, poets and craftsmen, visitors will get to sample the talents of
skilled cooks and brewers, too. What better combination than good
food, good art and good drink?
Highlights of Oktoberfest will include a sausage-eating contest
sponsored by Hoptingers Bier & Sausage House, hot dog costume
races, and more than a dozen live performers, including musicians and
dancers. Dan Wituki and Mein Heimatland Musikanten Band will be the
featured band.
Several pubs will offer seasonal beer in the spirit of Oktoberfest.
Hourglass Pub will feature more than half a dozen brews, all $4. Burro
Bar will offer seasonal beers and $3 drafts from 4p.m.-7p.m.
University of North Florida students will have their art in the spotlight
at Art Walk. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will feature a
UNF student artist exhibit called Tech Support. More UNF student
artcan be found at the Southlight Gallery on Hogan Street.

offer free rides from multiple stops to the heart of Downtown
Jacksonville until 9:30 p.m.Free shuttle rides will also be provided from
the University of North Florida to Art Walk.
Art Walk and Oktoberfest will begin when Jacksonville Mayor Lenny
Curry taps the traditional keg. Im excited about what this event
means for Jacksonville, Curry said. It brings thousands of visitors into
Downtown where they can see the artistry and diversity of our city.
