Problem of research
Wind turbine technology has evolved into a unique technical identity that has potential to contribute
significantly to the energy mix powered by renewables. One difficulty in controller construction for modern
WECSs is reinforced by sensitivity to numerical complexity, fast parameter variations due to wind
stochasticity.
Therefore, if it is possible to eliminate the stochastic element from the system there is a possibility of
improving the stability or removing the uncertainty in WECS.
2. Hypothesis of the research
If we design a controller which has a robustness capability, it is possible to eliminate the stochastic
element and permits a frequency domain view by allowing the introduction of frequency dependent
weighting functions.
3. Types of research
Based on the goal of research, the proposed research is applied research because it engaged in solving
research project. Based on the specific objective of the research it is analytic type, because it involved in
identifying factors or parameters variation. Based on the approach of the research it is qualitative research
because it involves in examining the sensitivity of the system. Based on the design of research it is
simulation approach because the researcher uses models for understanding the condition. Based on field of
study it is natural science research.
4. Methods and Techniques utilized
The researcher utilizes field research type, non-participant or direct observation method and observational
technique to collect and analyze data.
5. Key conclusion of the work
This research has presented the H synthesis technique for both pitch control and power electronic converter
control for provision of enhanced performance and controllability and also improving the quality of the
voltage and power supplied to the Grid from the stand alone a 2MW WECS.
6. Replication, randomization & local control
Three important experimental design principles to be considered for data collection are Principle of
Replication/duplication, Principle of Randomization and Principle of Local Control. Depending on the
experimental design principle the researcher follows Principle of Local Control
