characteristics.
Anticipated Time Required: 5 minutes

1. Cut out net of cube to fold up later.
2. On one square write the assigned vocabulary word.
3. On another square write a synonym to the vocab word.
4. On another square write an antonym to the vocab word.
5. Write a category that the word could belong to.
6. Write an essential characteristic of the vocab word.
7. Write the vocab word in a sentence.
8. Fold and tape the cube.
Reflection:
This activity allows the students to control what they are doing. They are allowed to pick
the vocabulary word that they are struggling with and find examples of it in their text. They are
able to use the cube to study the vocab word and others whenever they want. This is really
helpful because it is fun and interesting for them. When I did this activity with Anastasia she
liked it because it allowed her to come up with things she wanted on the cube. Then she was able
to take it home and use it on her own time. The cube acts like a die that when rolled, the student
needs to come up with the connection between what they rolled and the vocabulary word.
