Essential Question: How does a turbocharged engine compare to the more common naturally
aspirated engine?
Working Thesis: A turbocharged engine gives more power than a naturally aspirated engine and
gets greater miles per gallon at the same time.
Refined Thesis: A turbocharged engine gives more horsepower than a naturally aspirated engine
and uses much less fuel.

This article goes over a problem with a 2006 Ford F250 SUV. They go over check engine
light codes that come up for under boost which comes up when the turbo fails. they also talk
about the back pressure sensor. I choose this article because my car had very low miles for a
Subaru and the engine still went out. Low miles does not mean no problems.

This article goes over them buying a 2008 wrx that Motortrend reviewed. They were the
first magazine to get one at the time. They went over how much it cost, how they drove it, and
how the maintained it. It's a good article to use because it goes over maintenance prices on a
turbo 2.5 litre engine.

In this article the author goes through the process of turbocharging a naturally aspirated
Subaru Legacy wagon. First they created a new up pipe (pipe that goes from engines exhaust to
turbo) and a new down pipe (pipe where exhaust leaves turbo). They then wrapped there DC
Sports exhaust headers to stop the heat from going to the engine bay. Before anymore cutting or
welding they installed their new front mount intercooler. They then installed a new DC Sports
Ecu to make it easier to tune. After that they connected all of the pipes, turbo, and blow off valve
which let them reach 300 hp. They started with a 165hp EJ25 flat four engine to 300hp to all 4
wheels.
