Preservation Massachusetts

Don’t stop believing...

The Inaugural Paul E. Tsongas Profiles in Preservation Awards &

25th Anniversary Dinner

Preser vation
Massachusetts

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

The Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston
6 o’clock in the evening
Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Honorary Event Chair
In 1985, a group of citizens concerned with the preservation of the historic and cultural heritage of Massachusetts formed a non-profit to advocate
for this cause. Based in Boston, yet serving the entire state, Historic Massachusetts, Inc. became the advocacy and educational voice for statewide
preservation efforts. 25 years later and now known as Preservation Massachusetts, we look upon our past, proud of our accomplishments and
looking forward to our future. In honor of this milestone, we are acknowledging over 50 individuals who have made a difference in the landscape of
historic preservation in Massachusetts.

Profiles in Preservation is a chronology of the preservation movement, told through the people who founded the non-profits, championed the
legislation, rehabbed the mills, taught the classes and more. Each of our Profiles’ instrumental contributions have advanced preservation from an idea
into a broader ethic, bridging economics, sustainable “green” building, community revitalization with the preservation of our shared heritage. For this
we honor them and all preservationists. We look forward to this evening as a milestone for us and all of Massachusetts.
