Dear Ms. Neff:
I am applying for the Financial Aid position as advertised on the Mineral Area College website. I have been employed as a Work Study and Student Ambassador at Mineral Area College for three years and feel that I would be a good fit for this position because of my knowledge of the college and its policies. In May of 2015, I graduated from Mineral Area College with my Associate of Arts degree. While I was a student at Mineral Area College, I was the Work Study for the Dean of Students, a Student Ambassador, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. After completing my degree at Mineral Area College, I began taking classes at Missouri Baptist University towards a degree in Accounting. Working for Mineral Area College for the past three years has been a joy. As a Work Study for the Dean of Students, I had many roles at the college. In the office, I greeted students and staf and assisted them with any situation that arose, file paperwork that constantly flows in and out of the office and followed through with any other duties assigned to me by the administrative assistants or the Dean. I also covered the Student Service desk on numerous occasions. During these times, I became very familiar with college policies and feel confident in my basic knowledge of the admissions and financial aid processes. As a Student Ambassador, I gave numerous campus tours and worked countless events at Mineral Area College. Aside from my jobs at Mineral Area College, I am also employed as a Tax Preparer at Thurman, Shinn & Company. My duties in this position are to prepare 1040s that are assigned to me during the months of February to April. I am always willing to help people. As the Work Study for the Dean of Students and a Student Ambassador, I am very accustomed to assisting current and potential students in the processes of Mineral Area College. I am a very quick learner and feel confident that I can keep up with the ever changing processes of financial aid. I am a team player but I can also accomplish tasks on my own without supervision. I am a very hard working and organized person. With any job or situation that is handed to me, I work my hardest to get the task accomplished in a timely manner. I hope you feel that I am qualified for this position based on the details above. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
