Industrial Revolution
During the 1800s, the Industrial
Revolution was happening in Europe.
With the invention of factories,
weapons were less expensive to
produce allowing countries to improve
and buy them in mass quantities.
Countries were also experimenting
with new weapons such as airplanes,
tanks, chemical warfare.

Definition: Making your military bigger
and better than other countries.

include military help, money or providing

Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia and the alliance system brought
