Mason 150 Time Capsule Submissions Sought
The City of Mason and the Mason 150 Committee are collecting items to include in the Sesquicentennial Time Capsule. The time capsule aims to commemorate, celebrate, and document the past year, as well as the 150 years since Mason was founded. Items for the capsule should reflect the people, events, or places of Mason today, during Masons 150 year history, and Masons place in the state, region, nation, and the world. The time capsule will be sealed on December 21, 2015 and all items are due to be submitted at City Hall, 201 W. Ash Street, by December 1, 2015. The capsule will be opened in 2040, on Masons 175th anniversary. Rather than being buried, the Sesquicentennial Time Capsule will be put in the atrium at City Hall after it is sealed. Time capsule submission forms are available at the Mason Area Chamber of Commerces Visitors Center, 148 E. Ash Street, and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Forms are also available at City Hall, the Mason Area Historical Societys Museum, and on the organizations websites. ###
