Suitable strain of yeast (alcohol tolerant strain) e.g. Saccharomyces
ellipsoideus
A suitable sugar, grain or fruit
Anaerobic environment (no oxygen)
In an aqueous solution

Experiment: Fermentation of Glucose


Monitor mass changes:
- Can calculate yield
- Can determine when reaction will no longer proceed (it will not go to
completion)
