Internet Searches for 9th Grade World History
1. http://www.ncpublicschools.org/curriculum/socialstudies/scos/2003-04/058ninthgrade .
This website helps to give an overview of the different topics that will discussed in 9th
grade world history. It is very helpful by listing the different objectives that should be
accomplished by the student in chronological order. It also includes resources to help
teachers teach world history at different grade levels. One of the main things that drew
me to this site is how they have a survey for students to take to access their prior
knowledge on world history topics. This website is also based on North Carolinas
curriculum standards since it was created by North Carolina public schools.
2. http://www.sharemylesson.com/high-school-world-history-teaching-resources/ . This
website allows teachers to share their presentations, test and quizzes amongst a
community of teachers. The site also includes different tests, quizzes and interactive
learning games for your students. Lastly this website has everything that you need to
teach clearly laid out. Subjects can range from African Civilizations and Empires to
Global Imperialism and this shows how rich their content is, differentiating from grade to
grade. This site will help to get teachers organize their ideas and the information they
want to provide.
3. http://lessonplanspage.com/history-social-studies/ninth-grade/ . This website is broader
on the topic of world history but the main thing I really like about this site is how
individualized activities are based on the subject of your choosing since most sites arent
going to be that detailed. They also have different engaging lesson plans based on your
teaching style and your student(s) learning style. It will also help teachers come up with
new exciting ways to teach once you have run out of ideas or are lost on a subject.
4. http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/acre/standards/new-standards/ . While this website unlike the
others seems to be very bland, if you scroll down to the social studies section they have a
very small pdf (around 440 KB) that gives you a full overview of the curriculum. It lists
different standards and objectives that both the student and the teacher need to complete.
It also tells you different lessons and activities to do and when you can give test and
quizzes to access how the students are absorbing the information. Also this site is kind of
like the guidelines on what the outline of your lesson should look like. This is a very
clean cut outline of what you need to do to ensure your learner is successful.
5. http://www.learnnc.org/lessons/ . This site is specialized to primarily be used by people in

North Carolina. It offers different curriculums and lessons plan based on the subject and
the grade level that you are teaching. This website was created by educators and board
specialists in North Carolina and also gives out assignment, projects and different topics
and questions for test and quizzes. Everything that you need to find on this site is
searchable with one click of a button and will help get your child prepared to take the end
of the exam since it over subjects that pertain to the North Carolinian curriculum.
