On this Friday, November 20, Ms. Debra Merrier (Aboriginal Support Worker) will be performing a Smudging ceremony for our students. This lesson will tie in with our Social Studies unit on World Religion. The purpose of this lesson, and all others in this unit, will be to further educate students and promote knowledge and understanding of a variety of belief systems. In accordance with BCs New Curriculum, this lesson will apply to the content outcome wherein students are expected to know origins, core beliefs, narratives, practices, and influences of religions, including at least one indigenous to the Americas.
