When entering and exiting the Dojang, pay your respects to the training hall with a bow in
the
direction
of
the
"head"
of
the
room.
The
set
training
times
should
be
strictly
obeyed.
Do
not
be
late.
No watches, rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, or any other type of jewelry should be
worn
in
the
Dojang
during
training.
Bow 45 degrees from the waist to the Master or senior training person, with both hands
gathered at the front "Tancheon" point and look at the tip of your toes. The Master or senior
training person will reciprocate this gesture with a bow of 15 degrees, executed in the same
fashion.
Always maintain a neat and collected appearance when wearing the Dobok: do not roll up
the sleeves; the belt must be straight and neatly tied with hanging ends of equal length; one's
chest must not be visible; and, when required, one should adjust his or her Dobok facing
away from the Master, the "head" of the training hall, and fellow students.
When standing in line, senior students are always located to the right and junior students to
the
left.
Technique practice begins with the senior student; technique instruction begins with the
junior
student.
Only Grandmasters, Masters, or Instructors may stand or set foot on the teaching platform.
Do not touch the weapons on the racks hanging in the Dojang, unless after having received
the weapon directly from the Master or after having been given permission directly from the
Master.
There must be no cursing, vulgarity, singing, whistling, or boisterous laughter in the
presence
of
the
Master
or
at
any
time
within
the
Dojang.
Return all training articles (weapons, kicking targets, mats, etc.) to their proper places after
use.
There must be no lying down in the Dojang, unless as instructed during training.
No food, drinks (besides water), candy, or gum are allowed in the Dojang.
Always maintain a respectful, modest, sincere, positive, focused, and serious attitude while
training in the Dojang.
