I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Mr. Jaime Gonzalez. I served
as his Sierra Nevada College Supervisor for his Fall, 2015 student teaching internship at Sparks High School. Collaborating with his Lead Teacher(s) coupled with my formal observations I have found Mr. Gonzalez to be an outstanding candidate to enter the teaching profession. Mr. Gonzalezs assignment included Spanish 1-2 and Spanish 5-6 working with two lead teachers. Both have agreed that Mr. Gonzalez is well prepared for a teaching position. One of Mr. Gonzalezs strengths was connecting with his students. Greeting students at the door on a daily basis and addressing them by name was the foundation for a well-managed classroom with no disciplinary issues. Mr. Gonzalez has high expectations for his students and they respond to his nononsense, dignified approach in a positive manner. Student engagement is the norm. Daily routines include a starter activity ending with an exit activity related to the daily learning outcome. Mr. Gonzalezs lessons are well developed, standards based, and student learning outcomes are well articulated. Mr. Gonzalez utilizes a variety of engagement strategies to enhance learning. Students work independently, with shoulder partners as well as larger groups. Mr. Gonzalez has expressed a passion for the second language learner and incorporates this when working with his students. In addition to his teaching responsibilities this semester, Mr. Gonzalez also served as the Junior Varsity Head Football coach. Mr. Gonzalez was able to manage his coaching as well as his teaching responsibilities without compromise to his passion and dedication to his students and their learning. It is without hesitation that I recommend Mr. Jaime Gonzalez for any teaching position that he is qualified to pursue. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. Sincerely yours,
