Reflection
1.)
Ithinkfailureoccurredatthetrussmemberitdidbecausewhenitwassittingon
thetrusstestingmachine,thelocationonthetrusswherethescrewssathadno
supports.So,thealreadyhighstressonthatmemberwasmorestressfultoourtruss
becauseofthelackofpropersupportinthatlocation.Itwasoneofthememberswith
themoststressaccordingtothecalculations.Thiswasbecause,assaid,ithadoneof
thehigheststressesandwhenimplemented,ithadmorestressduetothelocationof
thescrewsandthelackofpropersupportonthatmember.
2.)
IfIcouldredesignourtrussaftertesting,Iwouldaddverticalsupportsfromthe
diagonalmembers.Thosetwolocationswereunderthemoststressandifthetruss
didntbreakwhereitdid,itprobablywouldhavebrokenontheothersideinthesame
locationduetothelackofsupportandhighstress.Withverticalsupportsthere,there
wouldberesistanceagainstthehighstressonthetrussinthelocationswithscrewssit.
So,ourtrusswouldbeabletoholdmuchmoreweightthanitwasabletoduringtesting.
LocationwhereIwouldaddadditionalmembers:
