Emergencies (the HTP) is a comprehensive documentation of the latest technical a
spects of Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE). The word Harmonised reflects the pulli ng together of the latest technical policy and guidance, the word Training refer s to its main application and the word Package refers to the bringing together o f the subject matter into one place. The HTP is an initiative of the IASC Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) and has been endorsed by the GNC and its member's agencies. In 2007, the GNC commissioned th e partnership NutritionWorks to develop HTP Version 1 that was launched in 2008. An update to produce HTP Version 2 is now underway through 2010/2011. The techn ical update is being coordinated by NutritionWorks in a project managed by the U K based charity, Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN), funded by USAID OFDA. All mo dules are in the process of update, for completion by September 2011. Numerous experts from many different organizations have been involved in writing the content of the HTP. Each module has been reviewed by a minimum of two revie wers from many of the academic institutions and operational agencies in the sect or who have participated generously to ensure a high quality resource.
