The Nutrition Advocacy Fund is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for civil
society organizations to design and implement advocacy plans to secure clear an
d firm financial and/or policy commitments from governments of high-burden count ries to improve nutrition programs. The second Nutrition for Growth (N4G2) summit in August 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will be an important opportunity for governments in high-burden countrie s to make financial and/or policy pledges to improve their countries' nutrition. The Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) civil society alliances and other civil society organizations that work in high-burden countries are well positioned to advocate their governments to commit to greater support. Recognizing that many of these organizations do not have the resources to plan and undertake an advocacy effort , the Nutrition Advocacy Fund aims to quickly disburse funds to support this cru cial-and timely-work. The Nutrition Advocacy Fund will provide grant support (ranging from US$75,000 t o US$200,000) to nutrition-focused civil society organizations in high-burden co untries to develop and implement advocacy plans to secure financial and/or polic y commitments at the N4G2 summit in August 2016. The Nutrition Advocacy Fund is a project of the New Venture Fund (NVF), a US-based, 501(c)(3) public charity.
