1. Is there any specific requirements for your major?
It depends on what branch of communication you are taking, whether it is organizational, public
relations, etc.
2. What courses do you recommend taking that will prepare me for this major?
You want to take classes that teach you about the theories of communication, learn about
intrapersonal, interpersonal, group communication and more.
3. What has your writing experience been like throughout college?
For me, a fair share of essays. Nothing too big besides my writing intensive class.
4. Do you feel as if writing has impacted your learning experience in
communications?
Yes
5. How important do you think writing is in your major?
Its very important! Writing is a form of communication as well.
6. Is communications competitive?
I dont believe so.
7. Compared to other majors, is communication respected?
Somewhat, people have their opinions about it. I respect it!

8. What opportunities such as programs or internships are associated with


communications?
You can be able to fly abroad to teach, you can work in business and marketing internships over
summer. You can find help at school for that.
9. What career do you hope to pursue as a communications major?
Theres a variety! I am interested in teaching, another interest is in law studies.
10. How long is the typical amount of education needed to graduate in this major?
Its possible to graduate within 4 years. This is my 6th year, but I switched majors at one point.
11. Was there any trouble getting enrolled into the classes you needed?
Not really! Just ask for help!
12. Do you/Did you have 2nd thoughts about majoring in Communications?
Personally, sometimes I think if it will be able to bring in a stable cash flow, but I really enjoy
interacting with other people. Whether its a speech, or as a leader of a group, or even just a
group member, being around people is something I really like.
