Water Balance in Animals

Dot Point:
Gather, process & analyse information to identify the different ways in
which a range of terrestrial animals reduce water loss.
Background:
You have studied the various ways in which terrestrial animals reduce
water loss (e.g. excreting uric acid instead of urea, nocturnal behavior,
reduced activity, lying in the shade, burrowing underground).
Your task:
Working in pairs, select two terrestrial animals which face the problem of
water loss (e.g. species living in dry or arid environments).
Use the internet and/or other sources to research and identify the different
ways these animals reduce water loss.
Prepare a two minute presentation using PowerPoint, Google Slides or
Prezi to communicate your findings to the class.
