To Whom It May Concern:
The Education Undergraduate Society arranges and provides Professional Development
workshops for education students at the University of Lethbridge. This letter is written at the
request of Kelsey Bahler who attended the following seminars from October to November
of 2015:
Thursday October 15th: Brayden Wirzba: "Teaching on a Hutterite Colony: a world of
opportunities"
Scattered across southern Alberta there are small hubs of educational activity happening in the unique
communities of the Hutterites. Teaching on a colony is like entering a world not like the one you and I
are used to. In this session, we will explore what everyday teaching on a colony looks like, some
pedagogical techniques specific to colony teaching, and some of the joys which come from teaching on a
colony.
Tuesday October 27th: Marian Biggins and Sue Bengry: "What About Those Exceptional Kids?"
At this session, students will learn about the information you should gather if you have concerns about a
student's learning, and the resources available when you have a student with a disability in your class.
Wednesday November 4th: Kurtis Hewson: Personal Learning Networks - Twitter and Beyond
With the vast amount of information available to us online how do we find and maintain meaningful
networks for resource sharing and professional development?
