Land animals

Circle Time Review

Activity Time

This week we begin our new

syllabus which will be very
familiar to the students. We are
doing land animals and this unit
has many fun songs for the
students to sing and dance to.
Walking in the jungle, going on a
bear hunt, old McDonald will be
the three that we will start with as
the students are familiar with and
enjoy them. We will also as
always continue on the weather
and days of the week board

In activity time this week we will begin on the vocabulary for land
animals. I would like to show the students, videos like I did with under the
sea, of incredible and interesting land animals that they may not have seen
before. I will use the BBC TV show Earth and also Africa. Both these
shows showcase incredible footage of animals in their natural habitat
Vocabulary: a bear, a camel, a cow, a turtle, an elephant, a gorilla, a hippo,
a horse, a lion, a panda, a rabbit, a penguin, a seal, a fox, a koala, a giraffe,
a monkey, a pig, a mouse, a zebra, a snake, a donkey, a sheep, a kangaroo
We will be making comparisons between land and sea animals and
differentiate between habitats. The bear is on the land and the shark is in
the sea. The lion runs and the whale swims. These will be some of the
sentence structures that I will be discussing with the students in the
classroom
