Diploma Endorsements
AP (Advanced Placement)
In order to earn this endorsement, a student must:
Earn a minimum of 4 AP credits
Earn all As and Bs in AP classes taken; a C may be included provided there
is one offsetting A per C
Sit for minimum of 4 AP exams (take at least 4 AP exams)

Dorchester County High School Scholars Certificate

In order to earn this endorsement, a student must:
Earn a level III or above world language credit
Earn at least 12 credits in courses identified as AP or honors
Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above on a weighted scale for grades 912

Maryland Scholars
In order to earn this endorsement, a student must earn:
4 English credits
4 Math credits ( Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II )
3 Science credits (lab sciences, biology, chemistry, physics*(is preferred
but not required)
3 Social Studies credits (US History, Government, World History)
2 World Language credits (must be the same world language)
3.0 GPA (un-weighted)

MD Merit Scholastic Award

In order to receive this endorsement, a student must:
Earn a cumulative grade point average within the top 5% of his/her
graduating class

Dual Completer
Students who fulfill both World Language/University System of MD requirements
and/or Advanced Technology, and Career/Technology Education, will earn Dual
Completer status.
