Man /Cosmos/Unity, the 3 Gunas; Tamas/Rajas/Sattva, and the 3 primary colors; Re

d/Yellow/Blue .. all inspired this Mandala. All emphasis is placed on the point of
self-realization when the Mandala or yantra (Instrument,visual tool) of the ext
ernal world leads to the mandala of the individual , and internal world.
The 3 Gunas ( Tamas, Rajas, Sattvas) are the 3 elements of prakriti ,the subtles
t primordial matter or primary constituent:
Sattvas: The aspect of the subtlest primordial matter (prakriti), which has the
nature of existence, light, illumination, sentience, harmony, or clearing. ( oft
en represented by the colour vibrations of Blue)
Rajas: The aspect of prakriti, which has the nature of activity, motion, energy,
movement, or changing. (often represented by the colour vibrations of Yellow)
Tamas: The aspect of prakriti, which has the nature of stability, stasis, darkes
s, heaviness, insentience, obstructing, and veiling. (often represented by the c
olour vibrations of Red).
