Microcontroller
Initial plan is to use to Arduino Mega, however after
further discussion using Megatronics is much better.
Megatronics use Arduino IDE software for coding.
Advantages:
i.
ii.
iii.
iv.

One board solution

Can support up to 6 stepper drivers
SD card slot
Can support LCD and keypad

PERIPHERALS (LCD & KEYPAD)

Control interface of the printer using LCD and keypad.
Control movement of the axes, temperature (if needed).

STEPPER DRIVERS
Currently using the A4988 stepper driver (with heatsink)
to drive the motors.
Current and step resolutions (up to 1/16-step) can be
adjusted.
Other alternatives; DRV8825 (finer steps, up to 1/32step).

WIRING

FUTURE PLANS
Complete the wiring of all the components (motor,
endstops) onto the Megatronics.
Consult with electrician about the safety of the
connection.
Test the movement of the printer.
