Event Details

Dates: Tuesday, November 24 Saturday, November 28, 2015
Summary: Enjoy the parks of Walt Disney World while getting the experience of a
lifetime performing in the Thanksgiving Day parade! Your band will travel to
Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot. There will be
clinics with well-known figures in the marching band community as well as a
performance by the Boston Brass!

guests, the Boston Brass

Through this program your students will be given the opportunity to work
with renowned musicians and directors from around the country. These artists
include Gary Smith, Ben Collins, Ruthann Medworth, Robert Jorgensen, and Whitney
Medworth. The website states, Performance travel has been the heart of our

music group. Today, were one of the top producers for Broadway, Disney Performing
Arts and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (among others), and were proud to carry

Tuesday, November 24:

Report to RHS Band Room

o All parts of your uniform, instrument, luggage, any
instrument accessories (valve oil, reeds)

Load buses as soon as possible student leadership help

When rehearsal concludes at 10, please put instruments


back on the bus and take only what you need for the day!

The Rockside Band Program has been accepted to be a participant in the Thanksgiving
Parade of Bands Event at Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida. Through this
program, our students will be given the opportunity to work with renowned musicians
and directors from around the country. The marching band will have the experience of
performing on Thanksgiving Day, and there will be a live broadcast of their
performance on banddirector.com. If you are interested in looking further at the

As far as trip costs, the band program has raised enough money to provide $1,200 to
alleviate some of the costs. The cost for each student will be around $500.

I would like to formally ask for permission to bring my students to Orlando (we will be
flying with Delta Airlines) from November 24th to November 28th, 2015. We would love
to have you on our trip if you would care to join us as well. It would be a joy to have
administrative presence with us as we travel.

We are in need of parents to volunteer as chaperones for this trip. Chaperones will still
need to pay to attend the trip, but you all will have a discounted price of $300. Please

Rockside Band Program Trip to Disney World


Permission Form




I hearby give permission for ___________________________________________________ to go to
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida with the Rockside High School Band Program
from Tuesday, November 24th through Saturday, November 28th, 2015.

Students will be subject to all applicable school and county regulations during the
trip. They are discouraged from taking valuables on the trip as they will be
responsible for their personal belongings.

I have read all of the information enclosed in this packet and have discussed it
with my child. I further agree to pay the expense of returning my child to
school before the termination of this event if he/she does not adhere to
establish standards of conduct.

Budget Information
PROJECTED TRIP FEES:
The exact trip cost will be based on the number of passengers that go on the trip.
We will be flying through Delta Airlines. The cost for transportation will be divided
among the number of passengers, so we will not know an exact cost until we know
how many students will be going on the trip.

These are the projected fees for if every student in the marching band chooses to
attend this trip to Disney World:

$94.00 per room for a 3 Star Hotel in Orlando

Meal Costs
$50.00 will go toward the meals being provided on the trip. The rest of the
meals will on your own, so please bring money for food!
