I liked the part of the documentary when Stan and Brian were talking about how Brian helped Stan get
out and they survived. This story is also the one that sparked the most emotion because it was very uplifting and
after they made it out Stan turned to Brian and said we are brothers forever and gave him a kiss on the
forehead. This was an emotional because they had become such great friends after that. They went through the
whole experience with each other. Brian saved Stan when he was trapped and Stan was so happy and thankful
that Brian came and found and saved him. This shows resilience because Brian risked his own life to save
Stans. Another reason is because they worked together to get out and they succeeded but their story is so
amazing.
In what ways can we honor our veterans?
Many men and women have risked their lives for this country and its people. To honor those men and
women for their actions, we can pray for them and their families. We can also build monuments and memorials
for them and to keep them in our memories. We can have respect for them and their history, also the history they
made. It is sad to hear that 12 percent of homeless people are veterans. Approximately 9 percent of these
veterans are between the ages of 18 and 30 and 41 percent are between the ages of 31 and 50.
We may not be able to help them all but I believe that we should try to help the veterans we can, to find

homes or at least shelter them and care for them for a short period of time. Good ways to honor our veterans is
to visit their gravesites and leave flowers and say a prayer. You can put a flag in your yard. Lastly, you can ask a
veteran about their story and when they served but really listen and care about what they are saying and respect
them.
