WhenthethespeakersaysIallalonebeweepmyoutcaststateitshowshefeelsabandonedand
thepossibilityofhappinessceasestoexist.Aftertheseemotionsarestirredheturnstowealth
andpopularity.Themoodworsensashebecomesmaterialistic.Themorepain,envy,and
sadnesshefeelsisilluminatedbyhisdesiresfortemporalthings.Desiringthisman'sartand
thatmansscopeonlyleaveshimmiserable.Despisingothersfortheirgiftsand
accomplishmentsonlydegradesyourprescriptiononyourselfworth.Ashumansdailywestrive
tobeaccepted,morerichinhope,andmorepopularbutaswedwellonthesetheseworldly
thingsthemoreunaccepted,nonwealthy,andunpopularwefeel.Asthespeakercomestothis
unsightlycrossroadsherealizesthathisworldlydilemmaisholdinghimbackfrometernaljoy.
Oncethetroubledspeakerreleasesthisdilemmathemoodofthepoemshiftsashesays
HaplyIthinkonthee,andthenmystate,likealarkatbreakofdayarising.Thislinehassuch
