E-Cigarettes do not
produce the same
harmful chemicals as
tradition tobacco smoke,
but they still are just as
addictive. E-Cigs contain
nicotine, which is highly
addictive and can be
found in regular tobacco
products. Research
shows that nicotine
exposure can help the
brain become addicted
to other substances.

In 2012, a study by
Denise Kandel on
gateway drugs
showed that 87.9% of

All medication

Sexual behaviors that may

and unintended pregnancies
HIV/AIDS
STIs/STDs
Premature birth
Birth defects

adults age 18 to 34 who

have ever used cocaine,
smoked tobacco
products with nicotine
before they did cocaine.
E-cigs can be a gateway
drug because of the
nicotine it has inside of
it, which can lead to
addiction and crave for
more of a high.

Smoking cigarettes
while pregnant is bad
for a growing baby, and
same goes for smoking
e-cigs while pregnant.
When you smoke during
pregnancy, the nicotine
from the ecig will be
carried from your blood
stream directly to the
baby, increasing the
babys heart rate,
chance of birth defects
and other critical health
issues.
