KASHMIRIMIGRANTS
State Government has constituted an Apex Advisory Committee vide order dated
16.09.2009 under the Chairmanship of the Honble Revenue Minister, J&K to oversee the
effective implementation of the Honble Prime Ministers Package on return of Kashmiri
Migrants to Kashmir Valley.
TRANSIT ACCOMODATION
Construction for 505 transit accommodation at Vessu(Kulgam) (250), Baramulla
(130), Pulwama(65) and Kupwara (60) was initiated out of which construction of 415
units completed and allotted to the migrants who have joined their post in the Valley
under the employment component, PMs Package on sharing basis.
Construction of 200 flats completed. Flats allotted to 31 local Kashmiri Migrants families
who had not migrated from the Valley and migrants on sharing basis who have joined in
the Valley under employment component of PMs Package.
Another 18 flats have also been completed at Mattan and Anantnag. These flats have been
allotted to migrants on sharing basis who have been appointed under employment component
of PMs Package.
EMPLOYMENT COMPONENT
Government of J&K has created 3000 supernumerary posts of Kashmiri Migrant youths
vide order dated 28.10.2009. Rules have been notified vide SRO 142 dated 30.12.2009.
As per latest (August, 2013), information received from State Government, the position in
brief is as under:

The process for appointment of 1554 posts is in progress. The final list would be announced
after vacation of stay granted by J&K, High Court.

The State Government has, however, proposed revision in the existing package and
has suggested enhancement of financial assistance at higher scales for various
components. The same is under consideration of the Government and would be
processed in consultation with the State Government on receipt of clarifications/
financial implications of the revised package.
