With the story A Christmas Carol, the book and the play versions are very different.
Certain things that occurred in the book did not make it in the play or the other way around.
Some phrases were different, and mannerisms were different, but also many things were the
same.

In the story, the actors from the play I thought were pretty spot on, especially Scrooges
Nephew. The way he was portrayed in the play was exactly how I had envisioned him in the
story. I think the actor was chosen well.He was peppy, happy, and played the part perfectly. Also
the character Tiny TIm was amazing. He was so cute and did a great job. I honestly envisioned
Tiny Tim as a frog, because I have seen The Muppets - A Christmas Carol version and Bob
Cratchit was Kermit the frog. But overall, the producers nailed it.

The play used different light techniques to create a dramatic effect during a scene. When
the 3rd ghost appeared, the stage filled with fog and and stage lights turned off leaving just a
white light reflecting off the smoke. This is what I imagined for this scene. This created a really
eerie feeling that emphasized the cold feeling that went perfectly with the scene. Also, when the
ghost of Christmas past showed Scrooge his mistakes, the stage was dark, but had a spotlight on
the event that was happening. It made me focus on the scene at hand, but the other memories

were still there which created an amazing effect that didnt interfere with the scene at all. But in
the book it went one memory at a time. We experienced them one by one making it easier to
understand the situation.
