87 Young Geotechnical Engineers from about 45 countries concluded:

Promote geo-engineering and its contribution to society in general
Contribution to mitigation of natural disasters
Risk reduction and optimisation
Safe and healty environment

Focus on outside world and other disciplines

Better contact between industry and academia

Practical suggestions:
- Website with centrally available:
- (links to) existing knowledge, courses, databases, journals, freeware
- Geoforum for contact, overview of current research topics, names etc.
- Geo-Google
Active role towards (inter)national media to reach public and policy makers
Mentoring, Training and Networking for (more) young engineers available
Reach out be proud and be proactive as a geotechnical engineer, young
or experienced!
