To: Mayor Mark Fitzgerald and Loveland City Council

We, members of the Loveland Beautification Committee, are deeply disappointed that Councilmajority
voted to accept a committee roster that excluded the name of Donna Bednar. We feel this action is
senseless and without justification; after all, Donna dedicated some 17 years to this committee, and her

many hours of loyal service are evident throughout the community. Having spent so much time working
together, we have become a very clbse-knit team; whatever affects one of us has a strong ripple effect
across the entire team.

Therefore, we cannot in good faith continue to serve in this role that we truly love. We simply refuse to
be identified with a governing majority that resorts to petty, vindictive actions against citizens with longstanding, stellar records of service to the community. Long-serving volunteers should not be callously
cast aside and used as pawns for political gamesmanship.

Therefore, we the undersigned do hereby resign from our appointments to the Loveland Beautification
Com m ittee, effective im mediately.
ln closing, we wish to thank Council members Rob Weisgerber, Kathy Bailey, and Ted Phelps for their

support of the Loveland Beautification Committee and of our appeal to restore a long-time member to
her well-deserved position on the committee.
