WINTER STROM INFORMATION

Lower Makefield Township will activate the EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER at 11:59pm on
January 22, 2016
215-493-4055. The storm is predicted to hit our area tonight and into the morning hours. 1218 inches or more is expected. High winds will cause drifting and possible down trees.
Per Township Code 190-5, remove your vehicle from the street in order to facilitate snow
plowing, within 2 hours of the start of the snowfall and until 48 hours afterwards.
Do not operate your vehicles during a declared emergency. Non-essential business should
remain closed.
Avoid calling police officers & municipal employees during the storm unless it is an
emergency.
Do not shovel or plow the snow from your driveway or sidewalk into the street.
Sidewalks near schools should be cleared for child safety
Place trash cans and recycling containers out of the way of plows, the Township will not
replace them
Mark mailboxes with reflective material so plow drivers can avoid damages
Clear snow from around fire hydrants and your homes exit doors.

Person with Special Needs and needing emergency assistance, should call 911.
If Emergency Shelters are needed, a temporary shelter will be opened at the LMT
Building, 1100 Edgewood Rd, Yardley Pa.

Residents with snowmobiles or all weather vehicles wishing to volunteer and


transport emergency personnel to needed locations or hospitals should call Lower
Makefield Police at 215 493-4055. Volunteers will be placed on a list and only be
called upon in an emergency as approved by the Chief of Police.
