FEMALE DRIVER RESCUED FROM DELAWARE RIVER

On January 21, 2016 at approximately 11:37AM, Lower Makefield Township Police officers
were summoned to East Ferry & River Roads for the report of a vehicle in the Delaware
River. On arrival, officers found a black Honda Accord submerged up to the door handles
approximately 15-20 feet into the river.

A Morrisville Municipal Authority Water Treatment Plant worker observed the car enter the
river and immediately responded by jumping in the river and attempted to remove the female
driver from Lower Makefield.

He was successful in removing her from the vehicle and subsequently brought her to shore.
Rescue Squad arrived on scene and immediately transported her to an area hospital for
treatment.
