Takajo isa seven-week overnight camp for boys ages seven through fileen. As a music ‘counselor, Aria was responsible for instructing small groups of boys of all ages and with varying abiites inthe basics of musio, both instrumental and vocal. She was also involved in two musical productions put on by the older campers during each of those summers. In addition to her instructional duties, Aria was assigned as a “Bunk Mom’ to a cabin of eight-year- ‘ld boys in the Warrior division. Her day to day responsibilities included making sure that each boy in her bunk kept his area clean, was prepared for each of his daily actvilies, ate appropriate meals in the camp dining room, wrote home to his parents, maintained his personal hygiene, got along with his bunkmates, and had a good summer experience. When she first arrived for counselor orientation during the summer of 2013, Aria was both quiet and reserved. She was attentive during all of the counselor meetings and took all ofthe instruction very seriously. Quite frankly, we were a bit concered that she might be overwhelmed once the campers came pouring into camp. We needn't have worried, however, because the arrival of the boys brought out the bestin Aria. She was warm and sweel, altentive to the needs of her boys, a Calming influence in a bunk of eight-year-olds, Aa is a young woman with good judgment and unquestionable integrity, We entrusted her with the care of our campers, both in the camp setting and on out-of-camp tips, without a moment's hesitation. She is reliable, dependable, thoughtful and mature, We are both retired schoolteachers with seventy-five years of classroom experience between us and we are confident in our opinions of Atia, She is exactly what education in America needs—a smart, hard-working conscientious and caring adult—who will always give 100% to her students Yours truly, th AH Henry G.
