TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Mountain View Elementary School, Salt Lake City School
District (August 2013- current)Currently teaching at a Title I school
with 25 incredible students including 11 ELL students, 7 students
with IEPs, and have taught several refugee students who have never
had schooling. Teaching at Mountain View has been an eye opening
experience in that there are so many students with so many needs one
can feel completely overwhelmed. However, after continued
professional development, completing my ESL endorsement, and
structured collaboration with my colleagues, I have seen students
achieve impressive growth.
Greenbriar West Elementary School, Fairfax County Public
Schools (August 2011- 2013)Taught a diverse group of 28 advanced
academic learnersAfter only my second year of teaching, I was
selected by our principal to be the 3rd grade team leader. I guided
and supported 7 other teachers on my team by attending extra
trainings, holding my team accountable for collecting data on their
students, and planned collaborative meetings once a week. I also
attended Responsive Classroom trainings for 5 months. The

Responsive Classroom approach has dramatically impacted my

classroom in a positive way because it supports my existing
educational philosophy
