Message from the New Editor-in-Chief
It is a great honor to write my first letter as an Editor-in-Chief (EiC) of Current Biotechnology. If fact,
taking the helm of the journal is not new to me; prior my appointment as EiC, I have served as a Guest
Editor for three interesting special issues [1-3], which gave me a deep knowledge on how the journal
works.
Since I assumed this position of EiC by early 2014, I have made some significant changes in the
organization of the journal, including the appointment of a new editorial board, which is now composed
entirely by eminent team leaders [4]. Furthermore, Current Biotechnology will be focused on thematic
issues guest edited by well know scientists, which will address the current advances and future
perspectives in key themes of biotechnology. With these high standards, my main goal is to reach the
reputation of other journals with impact factor published by Bentham Science and become a leading
journal in the field [5].
The feedback from the scientific community already has been quite positive. With several timely special issues lined up [6], the
journal is developing quite fast. For 2015, I am also preparing some new interesting features, like publishing the feedback from
the authors who have published in our journal [7]; that will highlight the quality of our work for the scientific community by the
words of those who have worked closely with us.
I welcome you to submit your manuscript and enjoy a pleasant experience while working with our editorial staff.
