War and Conflict
Introduction
• The USSR was ruled by Lenin and then Stalin
• First World War (19141918)
• Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombed
• Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand started war
• 1917, Czar Nicholas II was driven from power
• USSR fell shortly after to the Bolsheviks
• Adolf Hitler took control of Germany in 1933
• Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor
• Cold War came after WWII and lasted for 40 years
• 1947, UN gave Palestine to the Jewish
• Saddam Hussein took of control of Iraq
• Attack Kuwait in 1991
War
1. It didn’t really affect me. It made him seem human, though.
3. She forced reality into his world. He was proud of his son and someone
else realizing that he was dead made it all real.
4. She was fat, he was skinny. She didn’t want to accept that her son might
die, he already had.
5. War is necessary but it hurts everyone and it causes pain for everyone.
7. Denial, mostly. When someone fails at something they tried so hard to
complete.
The World Was Silent
1. People can be so cruel…
4. Weisel cared for his father and fought to keep him alive, Meyer no longer
cared, he just wanted food.
5. I believe he has come to terms with what happened, but it still haunts him.
It was traumatic…
8. I believe so because I would want other to know my pain in the hopes to
prevent it from happening to others.
The Guest
1. He will probably have to either run or fight.
2. Muslims believe that they will not go to prison if they are dishonorable.
Serving his sentence in prison will help his honor and help him get to
heaven.
6. It gives it a feeling of aloneness and freedom.
8. It all depends on the situation. If the person was wrongly accused, then I
will be good with it.
