Over the years many things have changed and so has the spare time of the people. In the olden times the people spent their physical times mostly outside the house whereas today spare time is spent inside the house. The current generation spends their time on tablets and mobiles (mostly indoor activities) which causes the threat of obesity and related problems.

Over the years many things have changed. From the generation of the grandparents to the parents, to the present day the circumstances have changed and so has the spare time of the people. The general changes were bound to happen generation after generation due to the advent of new devices but along with that many more significant changes have taken place with respect to spare time. The following report highlights the basic changes with respect to Spare Time ONLY The hobbies of the people have evolved. During the time of thee grandparents the spare time included games other than cricket due to low popularity of the game at that time. On the other hand, the last generation spent a lot of free time on such sports. Fast forward to present day, the current generation spends their time on tablets and mobiles (mostly indoor activities) which causes the threat of obesity and related problems. At the times of the grandparents the families were large and many relatives stayed together. So people usually spent their spare time with their relatives. This started to change with time and at the time of the last generation the families started to divide and people spent more of their free time with new friends. During the 1930s and 40s people mostly lived in small and underdeveloped cities or villages which meant less space for passing spare time but with time they migrated to bigger and better cities due to which
the last generation had better facilities and spent
more of their free time outside the house. In the olden times the caste system and religious issues were prevalent in India so children mostly spent their time with people of the same social and religious background. Today this problem has lessened to a great extent and todays generation spends time with people irrespective of caste and creed. The most significant conclusion that can be drawn is that in the olden times the people spent their physical times mostly outside the house whereas today spare time is spent inside the house. This is mainly due to two reasons 1. The children are attached to electronic devices or simply too lazy to go out and play. 2. Due to immense pressure of studies most people dont get enough spare time.
A lot has changed from the time of my grandparents to the
modern day. The change is seamless. Each passing day brings a new dimension to the world. Who knows how the world would be in another 10 years? Till then we can only adapt, or rather acclimatize to the new circumstances.
