findtheonesthatyouwanttowatch.Whilemanysubscriptionserviceshaveaddedmore
foreign movies to their catalogues, they still dont have a huge selection. Fortunately,
thereareanumberofdifferentwebsitesandserviceswhereyoucanfindforeignmovies
ontheinternet,soifonedoesntofferthefilmsyouwant,perhapsanotheronewill.Here
are seven different websites that have a good number of foreign films and are of very
good quality. While many of them do require a subscription fee, they are reasonably
priced,andyoucancancelatanytime.
1.Netflix
Netflixisoneofthetoponlinestreamingservicesinexistencetoday,andtheydohavea
goodnumberofforeigntitlesavailable.Someofthesefilmsareavailablestreaming,while
others are only available via DVD that the company mails you. Netflix does have films
frommanydifferentcountries,andwhiletheyareallavailablewithEnglishsubtitles,some
are actually available dubbed in English as well (you can select which audio option you
want). The service does switch up its offerings on a monthly basis, too, so its always a
good idea to follow their blog to see which foreign films are about to be removed from
streamingandwhichonesaregoingtobeadded.
Netflixisavailableonalargenumberofdevices,includingthefollowing:
PC/Mac
Roku
Smartphones
Tablets
GamingsystemssuchasthePlayStation,theXbox,andtheNintendoWii/WiiU.
2.YouTube
ThesecondmajorsitehereisYouTube.Itsprimarilyaserviceforuserstouploadtheir

upintomultiplepartsormaybemissingscenes.Youllfindthatthesitehasforeignfilms
from China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Italy, and more. Like with Netflix, these
filmsareavailablewithEnglishsubtitles.Youcanleavecommentsonsomeofthefilms,
allowing for discussion with other viewers. Some films have had comments disabled,
however.

4.Fandor
Fandor is similar to other subscription streaming services, but it has a much narrower
focus than Netflix or YouTube. Fandor offers classic, indie, cult, and foreign films only.
Their library includes a large number of international movies from all around the world.
You can select your movie from the region, or you can browse their collections via a
number of different categories. The service is available through Amazon Kindle, smart
phones and tablets, and Roku. Half of every subscription fee is invested in filmmakers
andinindiemovies,sothisisalsoawaytogivebacktotheindustry.
5.MUBI
MUBi is yet another subscription service that is a little different from Netflix. The site

available, and theres one movie removed from the paid offerings and one new movie
added every day. Not all of these films are foreign movies, but a number of them are.

7.AcademicVideoStore
Finally, theres the Academic Video Store. This subscriptionbased service includes a
number of films provided by Alexander Street Press. While the collection was initially
offered for educational institutions, you do not have to be affiliated with a school or
university to create an account. The site has a number of different film collections,
includingAsianFilmOnline,TheCriterionCollection,andotherforeignfilms.
