The Devil We Know -The title of this book has its fundamentals in the grounds that the Western culture dont really understand the force that is Iran and how they think to match or overpass the actual superpowers. While the stereotypes on the Iranian people are the only thing that thinks the western culture are true about it. The Iranian structure are the most strong rooted government and culture in the Middle East, this is what makes it dangerous we dont really know the power that represents this country. We know it but we decide to ignore it due to the fact that they dont play by the rules, with the perfection of the guerrilla warfare, they are very smart and have the equation to win the war with a few army members. The thought that Iran could control world oil prices is scary and this is why the U.S. cares about the Persian Gulf as the author mentions in the book, The Iranians understand perfectly that the only reason we care about that miserable body of water called the Persian Gulf is that 55 percent of the world s reserves lie beneath its shores(Bauer, p.104). So they know the reason the superpowers fear them is because they perfect the way they fight and could use it to control the oil fields.
