Demonstrate Ethical and

Professional Behavior

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 1.1

Make ethical decisions by applying the standards
of the NASW Code of Ethics, relevant laws and
regulations, models for ethical decision-making,
ethical conduct of research, and additional codes
of ethics as appropriate to context.
Review and become familiar with how the agency
applies the NASW Code of Ethics to practice with
patients.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 1.2

Use reflection and self-regulation to manage
personal values and maintain professionalism in
practice situations.
Interact with patients and attend patient care
plan meetings and reflect on the manner that
professionalism was given to patients.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR 1.3

Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior;
appearance; and oral, written, and electronic
communication.
Abide by agency policies and rulebooks by
complying with HIPPA rules and regulations in
order for patients to receive privacy when using
any form of communication.

PRACTICE BEHAVIOR: 1.4

Use technology ethically and appropriately to
facilitate practice outcomes.
Ensuring that all charts are electronically used in
privacy and all information transferred into the
system are accurate.

Use supervision and consultation to guide
professional judgment and behavior.
Use field supervisors advices, suggestions, and
opinions to be appropriately guided during
agency placement experience.
