The lesson plan teaches students how to give and receive directions by introducing vocabulary, types of questions and responses, and reviewing a sample conversation. It suggests using images, pair work with roles, and hand gestures when speaking slowly to demonstrate directions. The DID model analysis provides feedback that the plan could be strengthened by adding learning strategies, using the physical classroom space and technology like maps for reference.

1. Introduce preposition vocabulary with images for giving
directions. 2. Review the types of questions you can ask for giving directions. 3. Review the types of responses you can give for answering questions about directions. 4. Review a short conversation of how directions are shared. Possibly do pair work for this, having the students read the conversation taking the different roles. 5. There are final tips on how to do this activity, like speak slowly, use your hands to demonstrate what you mean (right, left) and use the word please when asking for directions.
DID Model Components
Step 1: "Know the Learners" This activity does respond to learning styles, especially for visual and spatial learners by using hand signals. Step 2: "Articulate Your Objective" The objective is clear. You go to a destination by asking directions and also know how to give directions to a classmate. Step 3: "Establish the Learning Environment" The physical space is used to teach directions, but it can be enhanced with more physical response from the students. I think they could arrange the desks like city blocks and the teacher tells the students directions on where they go as they would walk past the desks. Step 4: "Identify Teaching and Learning Strategies" This is not very strong in the lesson plan. I dont see learning strategies being used. The lesson lacks explanation on how to use the material. Step 5: "Identify and Select Support Technologies" Technology is not mentioned in this plan. But I imagine how it can be used. The teacher can project a map through a powerpoint, and the students can all look at that map as reference when giving and receiving directions. Step 6: "Evaluate and Revise the Design" I would test the students on their ability to follow my directions, by drawing a line on a map I provide them on a worksheet. But that is not mentioned in this lesson plan.
