History of Merengue
The merengue is a dance music genre
originated in the Dominican Republic
in the early nineteenth century. It is
very popular in Latin America, where it
is considered, along with the salsa, as
one of the great dance music genres
that distinguish the Latin American
gentile.
Originally, the Dominican merengue
was
interpreted
with
stringed
instruments.

The choreography of the
merengue is reduced to the
