I.

RATIONALE OF THE PROJECT:

As the present society changes, so are the demands of education, skills and
opportunities. To cope up with these changes, the government through the
Department of Education (DepEd) developed the countrys educational system.
Initial changes include the integration of Technical Vocational skills in the basic
education and total shifting to K to 12 Curriculum.
The said development has both advantages and disadvantages. Since it
focuses on the improvement of skills, the students are given not just with basic
knowledge but also experiences and practicum that would enable them to learn
both the theoretical and technical aspects of their chosen specializations. It
basically prepares them to the world of entrepreneurship and employment.
However, the implementation of the said curricular programs is quite challenging
not just to the students but also to the school personnel for it is a wide known fact
that our government is accustomed of giving projects with delayed release of
budgets. Because of this, schools like Kalamansig National High School strive to
implement the programs with our own initiatives and whatever assistance the
DepEd currently gives.
Much to our desire of providing quality education to our students, we are
hindered by some obstacles particularly lack of tools and equipment for both the
Technical Vocational Curriculum and K to 12 Senior High School Modeling
Program (specializations offered are Cosmetology, Food Trades and Computer
Hardware & Servicing). Hence, the practical opportunities that we can provide to
the students become limited.
One means to address such is to establish partnership with the parents in
providing the said deficiency. But then, most people in our area belong to
marginalized families. Many wanted to extend hand to the school but their
finances can hardly suffice to their basic necessities.

II.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

Kalamansig National High School currently implements the Strengthened
Technical Vocational Program (STVEP). It focuses on seven skills specifically the
Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Food Trades, Beauty Care, Electric Installation and
Maintenance, Carpentry, Garments and Computer Hardware& Servicing.

Moreover, the school was chosen as one among the three schools in the
Sultan Kudarat Division to model the Senior High School Program. The said
modeling was initiated this school year 2014 2015. Specializations offered are
the Cosmetology, Food Trades and Computer Hardware & Servicing.
As per observation, the school lacks tools and equipment necessary for
these endeavors. Results of division and regional level evaluations also showed the
same. Hence, the schools pursuit of producing quality students and graduates is
compromised.
Thus, this prompted the school to seek for partnership with other able public
agencies like the Local Government of our municipality.

METHODOLOGY:
Kalamansig National High School administration with the assistance of the
Department Heads of Strengthened Technical Vocational and Senior High School
Modeling programs determined the list and estimated prices oftools and
equipment needed by the school.The reports were then consolidated and a project
proposal was prepared and submitted to the Local Government Unit of Kalamansig.
