Executive Summary

This report The analysis of financial performance of Shinepukur ceramics Bangladesh is

prepared to fulfill the partial requirement of dissertation paper of Masters in Business
Administration Program of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Bangladesh. The
topic of dissertation was selected upon consultation with the course instructor.
The main aim of this report is to find out the financial situation and the financial trend of
Shinepukur ceramics Ltd. And justify the result from investor and creditors point of view. This
analysis covered the annual report issued by Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd. from the year 2010 to
2014, which was the main source of information. This paper provides an analysis and evaluation
of current and prospective liquidity, profitability, financial stability of Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd.
The methods used are different ratios such as current and quick ratio, debt ratio, earnings per
share etc. Other calculations include trend equations, correlations, growth of Shinepukur
Ceramics Ltd, The findings show that the comparative performance is poor in the areas of profit
margins, liquidity, retained earnings, net profit after tax. In fact, there were huge decrease in
Earnings Per Share and in 2014 their EPS was -0.02. All the analysis indicates that the company
is incurring loss. It has seen that Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd has failed to use its asset efficiently.
This position has a bad impact on investor view. As a whole from the analysis we can say that
Shinepukur Ceramics Ltd had a bad year especially in 2013 and 2014. The paper states that the
prospects of the company in its current position are not positive. The major areas of weakness
need further investigation and remedial action by management.
